What is a Personal Chef?
Here we explain “what is a personal chef,” why and when to hire one. According to the USPCA… you don’t have to be a celebrity to have a personal chef. A personal chef service provides great tasting food customized for you/your group AND the precious gift of time. We are the convenient and affordable solution to the age-old question: “What’s For Dinner?”
As members of USPCA, our chefs have insurance, have many opportunities –and encouraged to do continuing education. We receive support in many ways by our national group and our local group.
Your Personal Chef: An Economical Solution to Many Mealtime Problems
A personal chef cooking custom, fresh meals prepared for you sounds like quite a luxury, right? Well, yes, but when you understand how they work, you’ll see how economical and sensible this service can be. Unlike a private chef who typically lives with and serves only one family, personal chef services multiple clients, so costs are often less than restaurant meals.
Your personal chef might have a designated day to cook for you each week or every other week. As a result, you’ll have one or two weeks of fresh, healthy meals conveniently stored in your refrigerator or freezer, complete with heating instructions. When mealtime rolls around, it will take you 5 to 10 minutes to have an exceptional dinner heated and served.
Already, this arrangement is such a convenience; but when you take into account that your chef handles special diets and individual preferences … while doing all the shopping for you, it’s easy to see how this service can pay for itself.
Who hires a personal chef and why?
highly trained in diets such as keto, paleo, vegan, gluten-free, and more. They know exactly what foods are needed and where to buy them at the peak of freshness. They are also trained to be highly efficient; they can plan, shop and cook in a fraction of the time it would take you.
Another common situation is the very busy family, with two parents who work full time and kids in school. There’s just no time for planning, shopping and cooking. Life becomes exhausting, and coming home to a gourmet meal that can be served in 5 minutes can be a godsend. Mealtimes transform from stressful to enjoyable and relaxing.
A new baby in the family can be a great reason to hire a personal chef. Babies rarely sleep through the night until they are 3 to 6 months old. When the entire family is sleep deprived, who wants to cook? Who wants to plan meals and shop? Who wants to do anything but sleep and eat? Providing a personal chef to this family can make a wonderful gift.
A major medical procedure or illness can also be easier to handle with a personal chef. When a family member is bedridden, it’s extra work for everyone. Shopping and cooking become harder than usual. Fresh, healthy, special meals without the work make this whole situation so much less stressful.
Of course, you may also just enjoy having a personal chef. When you can have your favorite meals perfectly prepared and fresh, who wouldn’t want that? When your baby starts sleeping through the night, you might just want to continue with your personal chef.
